Long run and week 7 Summary

Saturday 16.0 miles/2:27:23/9:13 average pace

I was joined once again by Zach, and together we ran my favorite 10 mile loop in Walnut Creek. This was the first 10 miler I ever did, and I still run it often, so it's a special place for me and it was cool to share it with Zach. :) After the loop, I did an out-and-back alone for a total of 16 miles.

1- 9:22
2- 9:03
3- 9:15
4- 9:29
5- 9:16
6- 9:36
7- 9:33
8- 9:38 (1st half split- 1:15:16 [9:25 average pace])
9- 9:12
10- 9:01
11- 9:04
12- 9:03
13- 9:13
14- 8:55
15- 8:51
16- 8:45 (2nd half split- 1:12:07 [9:01 pace])

I felt really good the entire time, although it did get kind of warm by the end. But my legs felt good, my breathing felt good, everything was smooth. No complaints. :)

Sunday we got up and went to the pool, where I swam 20 laps (1000 m) in 35 minutes. I felt great in the pool. My resting times are getting shorter, and the swimming feels easier. Still hard, and I definitely still choke on water pretty regularly, but it's really getting better. Zach is really good, so my goal is to keep up with him. Or try to, anyway.

SO....

TOTAL miles for Week 7: 36!

PLUS: 2 upper body weights sessions, 2 lower body/core strength sessions (really short, but that's ok) and 3x swimming for a total of 2750 meters.

Have to love that Jen, Good Job... I been on back to back days of 12 milers ... just testing out some things--lol see how my body will react after back to backs..I feel good legs not sore at all...right hip a tiny bit stiff...

well yesterday coming around one of the blocks going into mile 7, I just felt so good and running very smooth...felt like I could run forever............

ahhhhh then the moment died out about mile 10 and back to grinding it the last 2 miles-haha

Take care,

Bob
